All in the Family
Growing up in Gainesville, Florida, our family was blessed to have warm bread fresh out of the oven every day. Our mom, Jan Gordon, ordered buckets of wheat, oats and honey and milled her own flour to make delicious healthy breads, cinnamon rolls and granola for our family. Continuing in the tradition, we are working hard to perfect the family recipes and offer the healthy, fresh foods we grew up with to South LA.
Vision for the Neighborhood
The Bicycle Bread Company team has a heart for USC and the surrounding neighborhood. We desire to be a part of building community by offering healthy food and offering opportunities for young people to grow.
We are in the planning stages of an internship program where high school and college students would have the opportunity to serve in the community and be a part of a program focused on character development and personal growth.
In the future we envision a vibrant bakery with art lining the walls, books filling the shelves, good music playing...a space where people from the community can share life together and enjoy healthy, fresh bread.
